Plain pen device IQOS in Panama City: the compare shortlist
Plain in Panama City: 20 units tested over 2 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Panama.
How we tested Plain pen device here
Plain prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Panama City that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within B/.2.36 per 10 ml.
If you are looking at plain in Panama, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: plain in Panama City works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a plain pen device really costs in Panama City
If you are looking at plain in Panama, the first question is not strength. It is whether the pen device you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested plain in a pen device
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Panama, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 20 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a plain bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every plain bottle shipped into Panama.
Where plain goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long plain in Panama City survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Panama applies its own import permit process for nicotine goods.
Packaging for plain in Panama must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should plain start at?
Start at whatever Panama allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
Why does plain taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pen device units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the plain blend itself harsh.
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Panama City: about B/.2.36 per 10 ml liquid plus B/.56 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
