The short version: tropical in Panama City works if the pen device, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a tropical pen device really costs in Panama City
Tropical sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested tropical in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Panama, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for pen device in Panama, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Panama, not a suggestion.
- Batch code and production date, so a tropical bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Treating the advertised B/.66 entry kit as the real cost when refills run B/.1.64 per 10 ml.
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Buying the cheapest pen device available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Panama sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Panama applies its own import permit process for nicotine goods.

Frequently asked questions
How long does tropical in a pen device last?
In Panama City we measured 7 to 23 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should tropical start at?
Start at whatever Panama allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pen device.
How much does a pen device cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in Panama City: about B/.1.64 per 10 ml liquid plus B/.66 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
